Prodigal Son

While this is no cause to kill the fatted calf and celebrate, it could potentially hold a key to binding a gaping wound in the autistic community and more importantly, help an autistic get out of a private hell;

My audience is limited, but for the sake of an autistic person, if you are on the ND side, throw aside the personal grudges and lets see if we can help...

When he came to his senses, he said, 'How many of my father's hired men have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired men.' So he got up and went to his father."But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.

Thanks. That's not a site I visit any longer, but from the comments it looks like that there might be some healing all around.
Best wishes

I don't look usually, but someone on Autism Speaks pointed it out.

I'm not holding out any hope, but I hope that this can show the man that people on the Neurodiverse side have a lot of compassion and advice to give. Maybe we can have a paradigm shift in his attitudes...

Bill,
At this moment, it is not about John Best, it is about Sam.
Let us hope Sam gets the help he needs.

Asv you know, I can't comment at AS. I read your most recent comment about me not using mainstream medicine. I'd just like you to know that I tried to have my son's bowel problems addressed by mainstream medicine many times. They were useless but did tell me to try Senokot which gave us a temporaray solution about 1,000 times. None cared to try and figure out why he was always constipated. Chelation cured the constipation. So much for mainstream medicine.

I did vary some supplements that cater to the gut and have had two whole days with no biting at all. We bounce back and forth debating whether he has some head pain, seizures, gut pain or a behavioral issue. For these two days, maybe we attacked the right area. We'll see what tomorrow brings.

Perhaps you can convey my thanks to neurodiverse people at AS for all the ideas. Excuse me though, for not accepting a half-assed apology from someone who thinks I'm an ogre for trying to help my kid. Shut the crazies up and I won't have reason include the reasonable people amongst you as psychos by association.

Mainstream is one of the problems I have with some of those on AS. Th irony is they mock people like Jenny Mcarthy for espousing the 'mommy instinct' yet when it comes to evaluating the actions of mainstream medicine, its exactly what moms and dads of autistics have to do. "is my doctor giving me good advice or a good diagnosis, or is he biased, ignorant or just an idiot?"

As you may know, I've had bad experiences with doctors too, and it's the combination of ignorance and arrogance toward autism in the former and toward parents becoming more knowledgeable than doctors on the latter that really turns me off to the mainstream.

I just hope you can find some happy medium with your son with regards to medical advice. Pain would still be the #1 suspect in my book, finding it is going to be a challenge, even with a good doctor! Good Luck, Bill

Bill,
There's going to be "spin" om everything that's said in this litle war.
Someone mentioned that I should try to poke diferent parts of Sam's body to see I can get a reaction and find the source of the pain. I may have found it tonight. Now the problem is finding a doctor who can find the same thing and knows what to do about it.

Anyhow, I just stopped by to say how much I enjoyed your C Darwin on AS. This guy is priceless. He sounds a lot like Phil Gluyas and he gave me a great laugh.
